I am writing this blog post outside in the sunshine, spring is officially here.
It’s been a tough winter, with the constant snow, lockdown and January blues, some sunshine was required and I feel better already. With a new month, which also starts on a Monday – how beautiful, I thought it was only fitting to set new goals for the month and share some ideas of goals to set for March.

Can you tell I like being organised yet?
I have listed nine inspirational goals to set for March.
Save 20% of your monthly salary
I’ll be honest, until I was twenty-two, I didn’t really have savings. The most I had in my account at one time was my monthly salary. I lived pay cheque to pay cheque and it was fine until something came up.
- Car troubles
- New big purchase
When I turned twenty-two, I had decided I was going to change my finances. I started to put away as much money as possible. As I was living at home, I was able to put around 50% or 60% of my wage away each month.
A more realistic goal would be to save around 20% of your monthly wage. I found my anxiety reduced a hell of a lot because I wasn’t worried about unexpected expenses.
Eat less sugar
For someone who doesn’t really drink fizzy juice, my intake of sugar is so high. Chocolate and sweets are my downfalls. As I have started to buy clothes for moving, I have realised that I have put on a bit of weight.
So it’s time to do something about it.
I am looking to cut my chocolate bar/cake problem down to one a week. Which maybe still seems like a lot, but I’m in such a bad habit of having dinner and then wanting something sweet after it.
The main thing is, I realise my bad habit and I am ready to change it.
Earning extra cash
As redundancy approaches, I am terrified to not have a salary based job. I have been working salary jobs since I was eighteen and it scares me to go from a secure form of income to blogging full time.
I have been extremely lucky with my blog and managed to make an income, but it’s always been extra and I was never reliant on the money.
The pros of this are that it’s really pushed me to give blogging and YouTube my all. It’s a career I’ve wanted to peruse since I was old enough to log on to the internet.
Another thing I really enjoy is multiple streams of income. I enjoy the fact that I have multiple ways to make money with my blog and I don’t have to wait on one payout a month.
Try finding another stream of income. Let’s just clear things up, I am not saying to join pyramid schemes, but there are multiple ways to earn money online. I’ve listed some examples:
- Virtual assistant
- Video/picture editing
- Freelance writer
- Etsy (Homemade items)
Try something new
This is more a 2021 goal, but I am determined to push myself out of my comfort zone. One of my new ventures is Youtube!! If you haven’t already, subscribe to my channel below.
Stepping outside my comfort zone was something I really struggled with in my adult life. I had wanted to become a blogger and join YouTube since I can remember and finally changing my mindset to not care what people think has helped me achieve my goal.
If your mindset is holding you back from a new venture, it’s time to change your mindset, not your goal.
I feel like this is a cliche goal but with lockdown, aka the gyms closing, and it being winter, I really struggled to find any motivation for exercise. With spring here, I feel ready to get back out on the bike, running and hopefully to some yoga classes.
Exercise is of course great for losing weight, but it does wonders for my mental health. I don’t even realise it until I’ve finished exercising and I’m like “Wow!! I feel so good”
Although our options are still limited, try and exercise a little more in March. You can do things like:
- Online classes
- Going for a walk
- Going for a run
- Skipping (I’ve heard this is amazing)
Stop saying sorry
I feel like with my anxiety, I have got into a really bad habit of apologising. All. The. Time.
Even if something isn’t my fault or even related to me, I will still apologise.
My mum’s bus was late and she was then late for getting my sister. She came home and told me what happened. The first thing I say is, aw I’m sorry.
Of course, she’s puzzled and asks why I am sorry.
I want to stop saying sorry all the time for things that are not even relevant to me. This is a really bad habit and I hope that I can break it soon. I think it’s annoying everyone else including myself.
Of course, this section will only apply to bloggers, but I can’t miss it as my blog goals are a large portion of my monthly goals.
If you’re blogging and don’t set monthly goals for everything, start now!
I create goals for the following:
- DA Score
- Email subscribers
- Google impressions
- Google clicks
- Patreon subscribers
- YouTube subscribers
I do get really specific because then I know what I am aiming for. I also like to aim a little higher than what I actually want because then I am constantly pushing myself to reach my goal.
Blogging has brought a lot of structure into my life and for that, I am so grateful.
Read more at night (turn my phone off)
Ever jump into bed and then start using your phone and before you know it, it’s 2 am and you’re up soon?
I am terrible for going on Tik Tok at night and it makes it really difficult to sleep. I’ve implemented a few things in my life to make it a little bit easier to break the habit.
- Set night mode on my phone. At 11 pm my phone goes into black and white mode and I know that it’s time to put it down.
- I bought a new book, Mindset by Carol Dweck, and I really want to get through it as I’ve heard some great reviews. My goal for March is to finish this book.
Open my mind to manifesting (even more)
As I learn more and more about manifesting, I realise how powerful it really is. I manifest throughout the day, but what I struggle with is opening my mind and aligning myself with the manifestation.
I think this is a big problem people suffer when manifesting. You can’t ask the universe for something then close your mind off and not be open to other possibilities.
I am really creative, I have countless ideas going through my head and usually, I just shrug them off. I’ll either think it’s a silly idea or think it’s not the time to do them.
If a creative idea pops into my head, I write it out and see how I feel about it. I basically give it the chance it deserves. This is because my creative idea could turn into something beautiful and bring my manifestation to my reality.
A lot of my recent projects have been things I’ve pushed by over the last months, but now I am ready to get stuck in.
Goals to set for March
I hope you’re ready to open up to the possibilities March will bring. Start writing out everything you want to achieve and how you’re going to get there. Dreams don’t happen overnight but dreams become reality when you put the work in.
What are some of your goals for March?
